Krokeatis Lithos

Krokeatis lithos or lapis lacedaemonius is a deep green volcanic stone (a type of porphyry stone) with lighter green and yellow spots, make it look like mosaic. The stone exported to the various parts of Roman Empire via the nearby ancient Spartan harbor. Pieces of Krokeatis lithos were found at the acropolis in Mycenae and was also chosen for the decoration of simple grave of three hundred Spartans in the Thermopile. Krokeatis lithos was very hard to work with and shape, but due to its beauty and uniqueness high quality products are created.
